Career Aspirations

I chose to major in sport management because I have a passion for sports and couldn’t imagine working in any other industry. Ever since I was a kid I’ve played sports year round and developed a connection with sport. Whenever things aren’t going right in my life I can turn on ESPN or go play a pick up game of basketball and all my worries and problems go away. My dream job is to one day be the general manager of a professional sports organization. This is a big dream but I am willing to work my way to the top with hard work and dedication. This has been a dream of mine ever since I was a young child and I would love to have the opportunity to do this one day.

Internation Perspectives

I unfortunately have not had the opportunity to travel the world as much as I would like to. The only country other than the U.S.A. I have been to is Canada. Thankfully this is going to change in the summer of 2017. The sport management program is offering a study abroad trip to South Korea. I have committed to attending this trip and am extremely excited for it. During this study abroad program we will visit many different sport venues in South Korea and talk to professionals there. This will give me an entirely different perspective than what I’m used to and will give me more knowledge on the world of international sport.
